1389. The battle of Kosovo. One of the greatest battles inSerbian history. The Kosovo Field saw the conflict betweenSerbia and Turkey. King against king. Hero against hero.Sward against sward. Horse against horse. Both kings werekilled together with the greatest heroes from both sides, but, still, Serbs lost the battle. They were forced to cede the battle and yield before the Turks. Serbia was forced to sufferfor the next five hundred years. The Turks subjugated andfrightened the people using the most vicious methods. Therewas nothing left to the people but to dream. They created acharacter who was neither of the earth nor of the heavens.Nobody knew precisely where he lived. He rode on a whitehorse. He carried a shiny weapon. In his hands he carrieda golden sword, always at the ready. Maybe that is why hewas always visible, present whenever he was needed. Hewas a lone warrior, the good fighting evil and forces of darkness. He fought for his ideals and was ready to die for themwithout fear or regret. He defended the weak and never feared anyone but the God.
