13 Etudes For The Modern Pianist

This book provides the intermediate pianist with a modern set of etudes in a variety of musical styles. Thirteen pieces are included in Jazz, Pop, Funk, Gospel, Samba, Bossa Nova, and Classical styles.

The Introduction page is included in eight languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian, so that most pianists interested in the book will be able to read and understand the overall concepts in the book. All other text is in English.

Lessons are included with each etude which briefly explain what is included, and how to interpret stylistic idiosyncrasies so that the pianist can learn about these styles as they go.

This book is a sequel to Stradling's 2020 book "Exercises For The Modern Pianist." While that book was a workout for the hands and mind, "Etudes" focuses on today's pianist needing to be able to play anything and everything stylistically they might encounter. And, to be able to play it well, with musical integrity.
