It is really just a standard community cookbook. A small percentage of dated recipes don’t work anymore because ingredients aren’t available anymore.
The book is about 490 pages, with about 470 pages being recipes. Of that number about 250 were what I deem as unhealthy recipes such as cakes, pies, candy, desserts, appetizers, cookies, snacks and beverages. Very few that really felt unique or new, with many duplicates. The rest concentrated on mains, casseroles, breads, and meats. Some felt unique, but most was standard fare.
Only recommended if you want to support the Grange, or are interested in a little nostalgia.
I am sorry, I did want to offer a better review, but in the end it is still a cookbook and you will not find enough recipes that most cooks don’t already know.
