Death came for the miserly skinflint, Mario Flagstaff, in the most unusual of ways - choking on a smoked-gouda stuffed olive. As a man consumed by greed and his own big ego, Mario believed he would never die. He was shocked at what awaited him in the afterlife. Barely escaping the wraths of hell, there was no royal welcome awaiting him in heaven. None of this was as he imagined it would be. Stuck in purgatory, Archangel Jeremiel expected Mario to pay penance for his greed. Heaven's pearly gates were locked up tighter than a clam with lock-jaw but the gates to hell were always open. Drifting up heaven's staircase were the cries of Lucifer tempting the lost souls to a perpetual hell. Mario felt like he was on a tight rope stretched between the gates of heaven and eternal damnation. All too often he felt the flames licking at his heels.
Mario's journey towards redemption tested his character and forced him to confront the darkness within himself. Follow Mario as he navigates the treacherous realm between heaven and hell, and learns the true meaning of wealth and power, and life and death. Fans of Dante's Inferno will devour this thought-provoking tale of one man's journey towards redemption.
"Then he said to them, 'Watch out Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions'" (Luke 12:15).
