10cc are a rock group founded in Stockport, England, UK who were most successful in the '70s. The band were initially comprised of 4 musicians - Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley, and Lol Creme - who'd written and recorded together for some 3 years, before adopting the name '10cc' during 1972. The group had two songwriting teams, one 'commercial' and one 'artistic. Stewart and Gouldman were mainly pop songwriters, who penned most of the band's accessible songs. In contrast, Godley and Creme were the predominantly experimental half of 10cc, with 'art school' sensibilities and cinematically-inspired writing.
