This book is awesome. It covers basics and things that are just good to know in a totally fun way!

A Great Read!

Ever wondered what a sacrament really was? Or why Catholics have the crucifix and not "just" the cross?? Answers to these questions and many more are featured in this easy-to-read question and answer book. The book is an interesting read, but can also be used as a reference tool. The book breaks down church teaching into major categories, including salvation, the magisterium, and morality. It provides a general overview of the topics, but enough depth to adequately answer questions. Hart and Lemieux provide references to the catechism of the catholic church and scripture to back up the answers they provide, allowing readers to find more information if necessary. This book is a must-have for every teen. It provides simple, yet thorough answers to questions that are of real relevance to them and their lives. It is also a great reference book for core members and youth ministers looking for ways to explain church teaching in ways that teens can fully understand. I loved reading this book! It was entertaining cover-to-cover and provides real answers to real questions. The book makes a great stocking stuffer, birthday present, or easter basket filler! It is a great purchase for any teen in your life :)

"100 Things" gets a 100!

I first received "100 Things Every Catholic Teen Should Know" as part of a LifeTeen resource box. I read it cover to cover within a few weeks. I was so pleased with the layout of the book ("bite size" chapters with large amounts of information and references written in an understandable and humorous way) and also with the orthodoxy of the content. I felt that this was a book that needed to be in the hands of each of the teenagers in our youth group. So, I purchased 75 copies and handed them out as a Christmas gift to every teenager. I have heard nothing but positive feedback from the teens and have heard many stories about them using it as a reference when people ask them questions about Catholicism. When our parish bookstore was looking for recommendations for youth oriented books to sell, I encouraged them to put "100 Things" on the shelf and have since heard that they have sold quite a few copies. This book would make a great 8th grade graduation or Confirmation gift for your teenager. It would make an awesome stocking stuffer, too. I think it should be available as a resource in school libraries and theology classrooms for teens to pick up or borrow when they have questions or need direction on a topic about Catholicism.

A Must Read For Every Teenage Catholic

Hart and Lemieux do a great job in handing on the faith to our young people. If you are a parent, pick up a copy for the teenagers in your family. They will greatly benefit from this book. As a teacher and author, I recommend this book to eveyone I know. It should be on the coffee table of every family as a reference to daily living.
