Rent-a pistol

As usual, Mr Mullins has made his intentions clear: to wit, what would you do if you do if you were in great need of a hand gun and just happened to come across one of the the weapons reviewed in the text, say a Mauser 96 semi-automatic "Broom-Handle" pistol? He tells you what each weapon will do, on the target range and, more importantly, in real combat environments. It is not likely that any of the readers will ever use the information in this book, but any favoritism for any weapon is clearly stated and you can draw you own conclusions as to your own preferences for a "last resort" firearm in some remote and desolate location. For all of the "fantasy" handgunners out there, this is a concrete and informative primer. SLAMarshall

An awesome book !

When I first picked up my copy of "100 greatest pistols",I was amazed at the amount of information it contained. Now, after a few years, I still go to it for reference and fun. In "100 geatest pistols",Mr.Mullin takes just about any handgun you can name.He subjects them to different situations,and test fires them without mercy.The conclusions he arrives at gives the reader historical insights and technical discoveries that go far beyond what the typical "gun book" offers. Mr.Mullin has a clear and concise style of writing that is very entertaining while also providing rare and useful information to the reader. There is no "filler" about the latest raceguns.But rather, no nonsense advice on different handguns one can expect to find all over the world. Whats more, he even gives directions on how to deal with ammo problems,testing older firearms and, tactical considerations rather than popular opinion about the suitability of various weapons. Just an excellent book that will have the reader wondering why they hadn't gotten their hands on it sooner. If you can find BUY IT !
