The Lindstrom family has a certain saying that all Lindstroms live by: Ten Scars Make a Man. In Cammora, a country ruled by names, your name dictates how important you are in society. For Menet Lindstrom, son of the current head, the only thing he wants is to follow his fathers footsteps and to do so he must attain his ten scars. While Menet lives a sheltered, elitist lifestyle, Cammora is troubled with a nearby country Zelek. Cammora, unable to grow crops on its dry soil, depends on Zelek for nearly everything. Worsening relations between the two countries lead to hardships down the road and Menet experiences all of them.
