How did this book come into being
Someone asked me, "Teacher Deng, what kind of psychology do you write about?"
I said, "You've got it wrong. I'm not a 'psychology writer'. I'm just a person who studies the mind, and happens to study Buddhism."
I have been studying the mind for twenty years.
In the end, it was discovered that the Buddha was the earliest cognitive psychologist, the earliest psychoanalyst, and the earliest "brain scientist".
He is not a god. He is a human being, one who studies the "mind".
This book is a record of my conversations with him, with Freud, with Piaget, with Kabat-Zinn, with Davidson, and with all those who study the "mind".
