شارع سالم هو وطن. مسلوب مستعاد، فمسلوب ممّن ناضلوا للحصول عليه. في الحقيقة، هو ليس وطنًا بعد. هو حلم مثل جميع أوطاننا. فيه أبطال منسيّون، وجنود مجهولون. فيه مشاغبون ومتحدّو سلطة، وفيه خانعون. فيه الكثير من المقاولين، وبعض القصور التي يعيش أصحابها عنهم وعن الآخرين. وفيه صبيّة لا تملك سلاحًا غير قلمها... وعيني مقاتلة من البشمركة. عينان حالمتان، متوثّبتان، رأتا أكثر من المسموح، تعلوان فمًا رفض أن يكمّ. في شارع سالم أيضًا جلّادون ضحايا ومساكين يذهبون كبش فداء وثوّار محبطون، ورسائل تهديد تصادر حياة كلّ من يحلم بتغيير الواقع، والسير خطوةً نحو الوطن-الحلم.هذه الرواية شهادة حيّة يبوح فيها كرديّ، بالعربية، بوجعه من الوطن... وعليه.
