It introduces the persistent efforts of the Chinese system builders. It also analyses the formation cause of the social security with Chinese characteristics that help readers to grasp the development law of social policies and the main problems in the Chinese social security area at the present stage. 周弘，教授，中国社会科学院学部委员、国际学部副主任、中国欧洲学会会长、中国社会保障学会副会长、中国国际关系研究会副会长、中国经社理事会理事。1997年当选中共十五大代表，2012年当选第十二届全国人大代表。出版著作包括《外援书札》（2015），《盘点中欧战略伙伴关系十年》（主编，2013），《中国对外援助六十年》（主编，2012），《社会保障制度的国际比较》（主编，2010-2011），《外援在中国》（合著，2007），《福利国家向何处去》（2006），《欧洲文明的进程》（合著，2003）。1996-2013年，主持了《欧洲发展报告》（年度）的撰写和出版。
