bhaarateey granthon mein 'shaastr' keval neeti ya niyam nahin, balki saty kee vah dhaara hai jise yugon-yugon tak pravaahit rakhane ka kaary vedavyaas ne kiya. shaastr-lekhan keval bauddhik lekhan na hokar ek aisee divy prakriya hai jisamen gyaan ka sampoorn pravaah maanav-chetana ke lie sanrakshit kiya jaata hai. isee kaaran pustak mein "vedavyaas shaastr-lekhan kala" ko vishisht sthaan diya gaya hai-kyonki yahee vah aadhaar hai jisake oopar "kalki mahaavataar" ke mahaagranth ko samajha ja sakata hai. is granth ke kendr mein sthit vichaar yah hai ki jab maanav aur prakrti donon kisee aavashyak parivartan ko utpann karane mein asaphal ho jaate hain, tab antim aatmeey-bal sakriy hota hai-vahee bal jo yug-parivartan ka kaaran banata hai. shaastr-granth ka uddeshy paathak ko keval gyaan dena nahin, balki us antim saty-drshti tak le jaana hai jise samajhe bina na vyaas ko samajha ja sakata hai, na shaastron ko, aur na hee kalki mahaavataar ke vaastavik arth ko. yah granth maanav-chetana, brahmaandeey vyavastha aur yugadharm-in teenon ke sanlayan ka ek saarvabhaumik prayaas hai.
