The title says it all. None of the claims made in this book are factually supported, and the academic consensus is highly unfavourable of the arguments of the author. The fact that the author wrote under a pseudonym is cause for suspicion alone, and is not the sign of a credible source. It is also remarkably Islamophobic for being a book ostensibly created to contribute to the discourse in Islamic & Middle Eastern studies. Those interested in the above-mentioned studies would do well to turn their attention towards more respectable and scholarly sources. If translations of the Qur'ān are what the prospective buyer is seeking, look to those of M.A.S. Abdul Haleem (Oxford World Classics 2016) and Dr. Mustafa Khattab (Furqaan Foundation 2016). Better yet, purchase multiple translations and compare them to track their commonalities and disparities—but do not mistake Mr. Luxenburg's mangled work as an equal among them.
