Hooked me right away

This had a totally eerie premise that I absolutely loved! It would totally freak me out to be writing a novel, a thriller murder mystery no less, and have it start come true almost word for word! Savi is such a likable character that I really felt for her and the nightmare she found herself in. And that is on top of the sudden fame of being a bestselling author (which would also be highly stressful) and having people recognize you on the street. The alternating chapters between her and Jacob kept the story rolling very nicely and had me hooked to see what is real, what might be an unreliable narrator, and what might come true from the novel next. That twist was a doozy but also had the pizazz for all that had happened so far with Savi. I will say, she has awesome friends (like Katie!) and neighbors/ residents of Boulder and also a warning that this deals with a lot of dark issues, like childhood trauma, grief, and identity. None of the characters are perfect, and all hold secrets and it certainly is a psychological thriller and roller coaster from start to finish. And I loved how the book being written ties in so well to what is happening (though it is also so sad!). A wild ride of a book and great thriller! I am glad I got the chance to read this and will definitely check out other books written by Amanda McKinney.
