This story follows the footsteps of Dennis Bruno. He was born in Toronto, Canada in February, 1923. He moved to Scotland at age six and returned to Canada at age twelve. When World War II came along, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. As a Flight Engineer in the RCAF, he was shot down over Germany and became a prisoner of war for over seventeen months. After he was liberated from the German POW camp, Stalag IV B, he returned to Canada and was released from the RCAF in November, 1945. He joined the United States Air Force in February, 1948, and for the next thirty years served in many countries around the world. He now lives a quiet life in Abilene, Texas, with his wife, Ruby.
