The Bully in Sight

I read this completely eye-opening book with amazment. First of all, it really defined a silent epidemic most workplaces are having to deal with. Secondly, it really outlined definitions, places to turn, and what to expect from abusive workplaces. I would highly recommend this not only to those in an abusive workplace, but for anyone trying to help someone who's been through this ugly phenomenon.

One of the most important books you will ever read...

If you are in a profession where bullying takes place....professions with strong managerial oversight....social workers, teachers, nurses...or in helping professions...ministers...and have been a victim of bullying; get this book. Your health is more important than an unqualified and projecting bully who's inadequecies cause her (or him) to lash out at your confidence and your self worth; and who use their position of authority to make themselves feel better, lording over you your ability to provide a living.... this is for you. Honest, thought provoking, compassionate reading. why are you a victim of bullying? Two basic reasons: you are good at your job, and you are well liked. Two things the inadequate supervisor/manager cannot bear, because it exposes them to others, for who they really are. How do they bully? Incessant and unnecessary (and useless) criticism. On and on until you are torn down. The result: longer term productivity decline, absenteeism, poor morale, and lots and lots of turnover. No, it is not that you can't handle the job: it is the bully who destroys the morale. When a victim leaves, the bully is sure to attempt to inspire others and say, "that person couldn't handle the job", but let wisdom be justified of her children....wait and watch. As each person leaves, they will be torn down, as will you when you decide that you have had enough. Don't wait until your stress levels impact your health...get this volume now.

This book has been a true lifesaver

This book has been a true lifesaver for many people targeted by workplace bullying/harassment. Mr Field's insight provides understanding and validation for the targets, analysis and exposure of bullies' underhand tactics and ploys, and valuable advice for those having to defend their safety, sanity and dignity from workplace bullies, as well as for those in a position to assist them.

A standard reference in our ministry

Tim Field's book is a standard reference volume that we use and highly recommend in our ministry with individuals who find themselves trapped and psychologically abused in toxic, dysfunctional systems (workplaces, volunteer organizations, families, etc.).Dr. Field has done a remarkable service to society in producing this book. We are fully grateful.

Hope for the Trapped

I have been following Tim Field's work closely since 1998 - visiting his ever-evolving Web site weekly. I read "Bully in Sight" from cover to cover twice. It provided me with invaluable and indispensable help in coping with stalkers and bullies. I have dedicated the last 5 years to the study of the Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). Most narcissists are bullies. Few have captured the essence of bullying and stalking as Tim has. His work has given hope to many - the trapped and desperate victims of bullying, harassment and stalking. His book and Web site should be the first stop on the road to recovery and healing. Sam Vaknin, author of "Malignant Self Love - Narcissism Revisited".
