Excellent Portrait of Los Angeles

Mike the Poet is not only a great poet, but he's a heck of a nice guy. This book of his poetry not only gives one a feeling for the emerging urban culture in this influential metropolis, it reveals a lot of local history unknown to transplants like me. Highly recommended for LA natives, newbies, and lovers of contemporary poetry in general.
