Granted I don't know the historiography or making of the book but I felt that the interview of Buscetta and the things he has to say are only a 3rd of the book. The authors plaster his face and importance all over yet the 2nd half of the book is about the machinations of drug dealing (semi related as Buscetta's confederates operate from Sicily-America- Brazil) and the American Cosa Nostra. There are chapters dedicated to the American mafia NOT related to Buscetta. It felt like filler content compared to the interviews with Buscetta. Which in my mind either displays a lack of indepth conversations with Buscetta or that Buscetta was not very forth coming with the authors. On top of that there is no map of all the different mafia clans in Sicily, but we have detailed diagrams of the drug transactions. It was rather hard to keep track as new names and clans were constantly being referenced.
