Trail of Darkness

Great beginning of what seems to be a series of adventures. It is the type of fantasy and adventure I enjoy and would recommend. Can't wait for the next installment.

Good plot plus even better characters equals fun read.

A plot doesn't have to be original to be good. More often than not it is the characters that make a story worth reading. Darlene Bolesny seems to be well aware of that fact and has filled her story with characters that are guarantied to intrigue and delight her readers. The story itself is a straightforward tale of good vs. evil in a land where two kingdoms are pitted against each other through the manipulations of a mysterious and evil power. The adventure is acted out by a group of wonderful characters centered around a thief turned soldier named Morticai(or Dyluth, depending on which one of his friends you ask.) Bolesny gives each of her characters a personality and life that makes an 'index of characters' virtually unnecessary. A fun read that definitely left me pining for a sequel. Or even a prequel.
