"The joy for me is knowing that somebody can have this strange audio experience. They're getting something as good as you get from radio." - Neil Gaimen Produced by the Sci-Fi Channel and Seeing Ear... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Two Plays For Voices is part of the Seeing Ear Theatre Productions from the Sci-Fi Channel. More television stations should follow their lead. These two stories told in the form of radio plays are terrific! I am a big fan of Neil Gaiman and this format brings two incredible stories to life. Murder Mysteries is expertly presented and the twist at the end is a surprise to say the least. Snow Glass Apples is a shivery fairy tale which cuts to the core of good vs. evil and that some things aren't always what they seem.
Gaiman got game

I'm a fan...Neil's worst works still qualify as excellent in my mind, and these are some of his best. I read these stories when they were published 10 years ago in a small distribution book called Angels and Visitations. Then I saw them reprinted again in another book some years later. The two plays in this package provided my wife and I the best entertainment we were going to get while being stuck in 8 hours of traffic. Finally I got my wife to pay attention to Neil's stuff (she refused to read Sandman)and she dug it.If you like books on tape, this is better. If you like reading Neil's work, you'll like it even better this way.Neil, if you're reading this...can we have some more of these?
Great audio plays

These two audio plays by Neil Gaiman were quite entertainning and full of intrigue. I did not know exactly what to expect when I purchased this set but I am glad I did. Both plays had excellent acting and sound design. Both stories caught my attention and i spent the better part of the evening glued to my headphones. I hope there will be future productions such as this. This book contains 2 CDs. Each story features a full cast dramatization. "Snow White Apples" leans to the horror/ dark fantasy genre; while "Murder Mysteries" is a supernaturel who done it of sorts. There is however a clever twist ending in the second play sort of a mystery within a mystery. I really enjoyed them both.
Great theatre for the mind's eye

These are great "radio plays" based on Neil Gaiman's short stories. Murder Mysteries has also been a graphic novel, and now a radio play. Terrific performances, though in truth I preferred the graphic novel. The better of the two is Snow Glass Apples with Bebe Neuwirth. It is really chilling and horrific, especially considering that it is based on one of the most famous fairy tales (and Disney movie) of all time. The plays are a step beyond the usual audio book, and you can't go wrong with a Neil Gaiman story. Now if only someone would adapt some of his Sandman tales...
