Last month, we offered personal reading recommendations for 2026 based on Western astrology. Now, as we approach the Lunar New Year on February 17, we are considering a similar question for the upcoming Year of the Fire Horse. The Fire Horse is a powerful sign, blazing into the zodiac only once every 60 years. This sign portends a time of momentum and rapid change.
Chinese astrology has been an integral part of Chinese culture for more than 2,000 years. Like the Western zodiac, there are twelve different signs, but the Chinese zodiac sign is determined by the year you were born, rather than the time of year. As legend has it, the order of these signs was determined by a race held by the Jade Emperor, with the Rat coming in first. If you're interested in learning more about Chinese astrology, check out The Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes by Theodora Lau.
In the meantime, here are our personal recommendations for reads that will bring you good fortune in the upcoming year of the Fire Horse.
