The Most Giftable Movies & TV

Plus, Earn Bonus ReadingRewards Points!

By Terry Fleming • November 17, 2021

I know you've heard about our current promotion (running through November 21!) where all ReadingRewards members get double points when they purchase any DVD or Blu-ray title. But did you know that the purchase of a new copy of select titles can earn you even MORE points? These titles will earn you double points and bonus points, because we thought the best holiday gifts were items that give YOU something while also being a great present for a loved one. Here are our suggestions for Movie and TV titles that'll give back in a big way.

Spongebob Squarepants: It's a Spongebob Christmas!
Bonus points on: New DVD
Yes, this is the children's classic! Plankton spikes his holiday fruitcake with Jerktonium to make big grouchy jerks out of all the townsfolk of Bikini Bottom so Santa Claus puts everyone on the naughty list! Will he succeed with his dastardly plan? Not if the ever-upbeat Spongebob Squarepants has anything to say (or sing!) about it (did we mention this is also a musical?)!

The Croods: A New Age
Bonus points on: New Blu-ray and New 4K Ultra HD
The holiday season is all about family, and what screams familial solidarity more than a family that sleeps in one giant, reeking Neanderthal ball? This sequel to the popular The Croods is even funnier with the same all-star cast of Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, and Nicolas Cage!

007: The Daniel Craig 4-Film Collection
Bonus points on: New DVD and New Blu-ray
With the latest Bond film No Time to Die still burning up the box office, we thought it was a good time to remind you or the Bond fan in your life of the previous titles in Craig's stint as Bond. This collection is a Casino Royale of riches that will give you a Quantum of Solace over the fact Craig won't be returning as Bond. But though the Spectre of him will hang over the series for many years to come, hopefully revisiting these titles will keep your heart from making a, well, harsh Skyfall.

Downton Abbey
Bonus points on: New DVD and New Blu-ray
Stuffy airs, posh surroundings, gorgeous wardrobes, high drama, low drama, MEDIUM drama! Let's face it, Downton Abbey has it all. And did you know they made a motion picture? Yup, that's what this is, right here, certain to quench any thirst for Anglo-scandal!

F9: The Fast Saga
Bonus points on: New DVD and New Blu-ray
Who knew the Fast & Furious franchise warranted saga status? We did, that's who! And remember when some wiseacre online said Vin Diesel needed to jump a vehicle into outer space in F9? And remember how silly that sounded to you at the time? Well, just take a look at this installment and see how silly it is (Ok, it might still be silly, but let's face it, it's also way fun).

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Bonus points on: New DVD, New Blu-ray, and New 4k Ultra HD
Quentin Tarantino's latest revisionist opus concerns a B-movie actor and his part-time stuntman best friend, and their adventures in Hollywood circa 1969. We'll meet stars Sharon Tate, Bruce Lee and Steve McQueen, walk across movie sets and glamourous parties, and have harrowing encounters with Manson Family monstrosities. Tarantino called this a hang-out movie, and who wouldn't want to hang out with an all-star cast like this?

A Quiet Place II
Bonus points on: New DVD, New Blu-ray, and New 4k Ultra HD
Ok, if you're living in a world inhabited by man-eating aliens with heads that ring like gongs every time the slightest sound is made (making them very, very angry), it's probably a good idea to teach your son not to shriek like a harpy whenever he makes a boo-boo. Too bad Emily Blunt didn't think of that! More tiptoeing, whispering, terrible impromptu versions of charades, and manic gesturing ensue as the family from the first movie (minus—well, I won't spoil it) try to survive. In other words, great fun for the audience. Now Ssssshhhh!

Parasite
Bonus points on: New DVD
Winner of the 2020 Academy Award for Best Picture, Parasite is part black comedy, part heist movie, and—eventually—tragedy. See what all the fuss was about and learn why this deserves to be considered one of the greats!

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Bonus points on: New DVD and New Blu-ray
Dinosaurs running wild, treacherous corporate interests, an active volcano—what more could you want from an action movie? Well, aside from Chris Pratt leading the charge, of course.

News of the World
Bonus points on: New DVD and New Blu-ray
The answer to the question: what would an epic western quest starring Tom Hanks be like? Westerns used to be the most popular genre of movies. If they were all this good, they'd still be.

Bill and Ted Face the Music
Bonus points on: New DVD and New Blu-ray
This was sequel was released 29 years after Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey—which has to be some kind of record—and with most of the same cast (though George Carlin, you are greatly missed). Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter return in the title roles and do a most excellent job or reprising their characters, but the top acting prize has to go to Brigette Lundy-Paine, who is so hilarious as Ted's (Keanu Reeve's) daughter, one wonders why she wasn't given her own spin-off.

Breaking Bad: The Complete Series
Bonus points on: New DVD and New Blu-ray
This is it, the whole enchilada, the cultural event. Walter White. From high school chemistry teacher to drug kingpin. Some say the greatest television series ever. Decide for yourself!

You can find more bonus points eligible items here. Happy shopping!
