Now, Higher Value Free Book Rewards and a New Middle Tier!

One of my most favorite things about working at ThriftBooks is seeing the joy our customers have when their books arrive at their door. These posts on our social channels are the highlight of my day! We can all relate to the anticipation that comes with receiving a book we can't wait to dive into! Settling into our favorite reading spot, with our favorite reading beverage, and delving into the first few pages, letting the scene, story, and characters unfold and take us away onto a new journey.

Books are many things. They are magical, transformative, educational, inspirational, the list goes on. At ThriftBooks we are a community of readers who truly believe in the power of the written word. We aim to inspire you with our curated content and book recommendations and delight you with our vast selection of books available at a fair, everyday low price. In short, we are committed to supporting your love of reading and love of books.

So today I'm super excited to share our revamped ReadingRewards program, designed to give you, our customers, sweeter rewards towards something you love doing...reading!

Three Levels With Real Benefits

As before, Reading Rewards is free to join and you begin earning points with your first purchase. Here is an overview of our ReadingRewards levels:

Reader Level

• Our base level is the Reader level where you earn 8 points for every dollar spent
• Every time you reach 500 points, you earn a FREE BOOK reward good for a free used book valued up to $5

Bookworm Level *Our new middle tier*

• Once you have spent $75 in a calendar year, you move up to our new middle tier in the program, the Bookworm level
• At this level, you earn 9 points for every dollar spent
• Every time you reach 500 points, you earn a FREE BOOK reward
• Now, at the Bookworm level, that FREE BOOK reward is good for a free used book valued up to $6!

Literati Level

• The Literati level remains our top tier, with members moving up to this level after spending $150 in a calendar year
• At the Literati level, you earn 10 points for every dollar spent
• Every time you reach 500 points, you earn a FREE BOOK reward
• Now, at the Literati level, that FREE BOOK reward is good for a free used book valued up to $7!

Three levels. Each with increasingly better benefits. All providing FREE BOOKS!

2021 Status

For all current ReadingRewards members, your ReadingRewards level as of April 26, 2021 is determined by your annual spend in 2020 or thus far in 2021, whichever is greater.

• Annual spend in 2020 or thus far in 2021 of $0-$74 = Reader Level
• Annual spend in 2020 or thus far in 2021 of $75-$149 = Bookworm level
• Annual spend in 2020 or thus far in 2021 of $150+ = Literati level

But Wait, There's More!

All free book rewards you currently have in your account have been upgraded to your new level. If you are now a Bookworm, your free book reward can be applied to a used book priced up to $6. If you are a Literati, your free book reward can be applied to a used book priced up to $7. More books to choose from, more reading to enjoy.

Explore Your New Account Page

We have created a new account dashboard where you can easily find all your ReadingRewards information. I encourage all members to explore their new account page, where you will find the following details:

1. Your current ReadingRewards level
2. Your free book credits available and their expiration dates 
3. Your progress to the next level
4. ReadingRewards offers currently available to you
5. Your point earning history
6. Summary of the ReadingRewards levels and benefits

To find your ReadingRewards account page:

• Be sure you are logged in at ThriftBooks.com or in the app
• Click My Account
  • In desktop, you can click "My Account" (where it says, "Hi [your name]!") in the top right-hand side of the homepage
  • For mobile and in the app, click the menu icon  (three horizontal lines) in the top left of the screen to see the My Account option
• From My Account, a drop-down menu will appear. Select "ReadingRewards" from the menu to visit the ReadingRewards dashboard

One Last Note

Your status level will be determined by your annual spend on ThriftBooks during a calendar year. New levels will take effect January 1 every year and will be determined by your annual spend the calendar year before. And as before, your FREE BOOK credits are good for a full 90 days from when they are awarded. Points will only expire after 24 months of account inactivity.
