As we usher in the new year, we are—as ever—eagerly anticipating the new books this year will bring. And 2022 is not letting us down! Every day this week, we're featuring genre-specific lists of five upcoming books we can't wait to get our hands on.

So far we've covered literary fiction and poetry and romance. Today's focus is mystery! Here are five volumes available for pre-order, plus an already published book with a similar vibe you can enjoy in the meantime.

The Book of Cold Cases by Simone St. James (Mar. 15)

This bestselling author's last novel, The Sun Down Motel, landed on our Best of 2020 list and her newest delivers loads more twisty chills and thrills.
