What does Grumpy x Sunshine mean?

Grumpy x Sunshine is a literary trope about the personalities of two characters, most commonly used when two characters are in a romantic relationship, there are definitely platonic partners that fit the bill, Bert and Ernie being a perfect example. In a Grumpy x Sunshine, one character is the stoic, for whom smiles and happiness are rare. The other character is lightning in a bottle, with a compliment and smile ready for whatever wonderful things the world has in store.

What's so good about a Grumpy x Sunshine?

It's the classic opposites attract angle, for one. Though what is fun with this trope being more about personality types, the two can actually still have so much in common! Yet how they express and feel their emotions is so different, they can barely understand each other no matter what they have in common. You really get to see the characters get to know each other, what their partner's every move and breath really mean.

It's the charm of seeing how the grump with a heart of ice melts for their sunshine, and only their sunshine. Of seeing someone that has never smiled a day in their life smile for that special someone all the way to their "I dos." Don't we all want to be the one to make the guard at Buckingham palace crack a smile? Grumpy x Sunshine is that feeling in a book!

It's the true devotion, the grumpy and the sunshine are nothing without each other. If anyone even looks at the sunshine wrong, the grumpy will take care of it. Especially when it's one of those mafia romances.
