ThriftBooks Supports Little Free Library for Giving Tuesday.

You may have heard of, and likely even seen, the movie “Wicked: For Good”.  The title "Wicked: For Good" has a powerful double meaning, referring to both "forever" and "for the better," capturing the central theme of the lasting, transformative friendship between Elphaba and Glinda. “For the better” because of the positive impact Elphaba and Glinda have had on each other through their friendship and “Forever” signifying their bond will endure in their hearts.  The song “For Good”, in both the original Broadway play and now in the theatrical movie, is a pivotal emotional one.

I chose For Good as the theme for this year’s Giving Tuesday blog because it is timely given the Wicked movie release and highly relevant.

As book lovers, we all can appreciate the value of books in our lives.  Books can connect, comfort and inspire.  They can provide a new perspective, give us hope in hard times, and help us share joy across generations. So much good can come from books…. but having access to books is a crucial first step. 

At ThriftBooks.com, we take pride in offering a wide selection of books at affordable prices.  But we also know there exists far too many book deserts across our country, communities underserved in their access to affordable or free books.  Since 2024, ThriftBooks has partnered with the Little Free Library nonprofit to provide books to these underserved communities through our donation of 10,000 books to support the Little Free Library Impact Library Program because we both share a simple belief:  everyone deserves access to books — and the opportunity to fall in love with reading.
