One of the fantasy genre's bestselling authors, R.A. Salvatore was born Robert Anthony Salvatore in 1959 in Massachusetts. While studying at Fitchburg State College, he became interested in literature. Salvatore earned a B.S. in communications and a B.A. in English. Salvatore worked as a bouncer before committing to full-time writing. Now known for The Demon Wars Saga and his Forgotten Realms novels, Salvatore has also written video games. He lives in Massachusetts.
