Born in 1929 in Arkansas, Gilbert Morris has gained fame and success as the author of over eighty Christian novels, as well as articles and poems. Morris earned his B.A. and M.A. in English from Arkansas State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas. He has also done graduate work at the University of London. Before his writing career, Morris was the pastor of a Baptist church and an English professor at Ouchita Baptist University and Jimmy Swaggert Bible College. The House of Winslow series, comprising thirty novels, is his best-known work. Morris has received five Angel awards and won Cloverleaf's National Award for Poetry. He lives in Alabama.
