"Your Dog's Wild Cousins" gives many intriguing insights into the lifestyles and behaviors of domestic dogs through its factual descriptions of canines in the wild. This book not only relates facts about numerous canines in the wild, but directly relates each "cousin" and its habits to the family dog. The photgraphs are close-up, detailed images which add even more understanding to the text. Even though it is recommended for ages 9 and up, we checked it out from our local library and read it to our 6 year old, who thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend purchasing this book for any child age 6 and up who has more than just a passing interest in dogs. Even an adult would enjoy this layman's book about the relationship between domestic dogs and their wild ancestors. I give it the highest praise.
