Some very hot witches!

I'd read some of Anya Bast's Ellora's Cave stories before and enjoyed them and got Witch Fire out from the library. I enjoyed it so much I may purchase my own copy. I'm more of a vampire/werewolf type of paranormal romance but her witches are a lot of fun. And very very sexy! Wow! There are some scenes in this book! Whew! I need to be outside in the 30 degree weather reading this one! Wow! Jack & Mira heat up the sheets big time! Very steamy. Very, very steamy. Folks reading this series need to know that up front. Ms. Bast doesn't pull any punches there. Mira is a waitress dealing with her divorce from a cheating husband. She notices the extremely "hot" guy who comes in for coffee and has her little fantasies about him never knowing how instrumental he is to her future. Unknown to Mira, Jack is a fire witch and he's sent to protect her from the bad warlocks while introducing her to her hidden talents. She's an air witch who's parents were killed by the bad guys. Fire and air are magnetic to each other. Their majicks attract each other and they are heavily attracted to each other. While the sparks their magic sets off together balances out, the attraction they share for each other heats up. But of course there are trials and hidden secrets and bad warlocks to defeat. I really enjoyed this story. It's a very different take on witches and warlocks then I'd ever seen before. I love how everyone has their elemental specialty and how those specialties react to others. Fire & air. Earth & water. Can't wait for the next story with Thomas, Mira's long lost cousin. If you like paranormal romance on the very spicy side, I'd recommend this book. If you like really cool superhero type powers and magical smackdowns, I'd recommend this book. Enjoy!

Refreshing

This was the first book I read by this author and the first book about male witches. I loved this book for being a refreshing story about the witch world with warlocks and demons. I learned a little about the Wicca and the elements in which they go by. Plus you have a compelling male character who is trying to keep the relationship professional. If you are into paranormal romance, give Witch Fire a try you will not be disappointed.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one

In the past I've been a bit disappointed in the paranormal romances I've read. Not so this time. I really enjoyed Witch Fire and will definitely buy the next book. I found the characters fun, the sex hot and the storyline intriguing.

Wonderful find

I was out of town and had read two Linda Howard books while gone, returned in need of something good to read, looked for a few other titles and then stumbled upon this. Upon opening it, I so hated to put it down for five minutes and everytime after that was the same. I found myself loosing track of all time. I can't wait for the next book to comes out. A great read, charaters are well defined, sexual content is excellent, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The powers they have are great and nothing but better as you continue... I say get it and see how long you can stop reading...Gotta go the book is calling me again.

5 Klovers! Courtesy of CK2S Kwips & Kritiques

Unsuspecting Mira Hoskins is one of the most powerful elemental witches, an Air Witch, born to two Air Witches who met their fate when she was still a young child. Raised by her godmother, she has no idea of her true legacy, much less the fact that witches and magic really exist. She is even less prepared to meet Jack, the Fire Witch to whom she finds herself irresistibly drawn. Thrown together when Jack is assigned as her bodyguard to protect her from a group of evil witches intent on sacrificing Mira for their own nefarious purposes, desire burns hot between these two. Sure, Fire and Air Elementals are naturally drawn to one another, but the attraction she feels for Jack appear to go uncomfortably further for that. After surviving one bad relationship and broken marriage, Mira isn't in the market for another and is determined to keep this thing with Jack purely physical. Easier said than done. But Jack has issues of his own - secrets he can't share with Mira, and those secrets threaten to destroy her feelings for him forever. Bravo! I was already a fan of author Anya Bast after reading some of her eBooks from another publisher, but her new print release through Berkley moves her up my list of favorite authors and cements her as an auto buy! Witch Fire is a bewitching start to what promises to be a fascinating new series - Elemental Witches. Mira is a perfect romantic heroine - a little broken from a bad marriage, but still warm and caring and ready to love again, even when she does not think so herself. She has a forgiving nature, which proves a balm to Jack's long tortured soul and mind when she discovers the secrets he has hidden from her. Although she was not raised with knowledge of her powers, she quickly accepts her new role and the responsibility her powers bring her. Jack is strong and heart-breaking as he punishes himself for a past that was beyond his control. Watching him penalize himself for a wrong he believes he perpetrated on Mira's family long ago tore me up, especially as he denied both himself and Mira the love both so desperately needed in each other's arms. But by the same token, this made the happy ending so much sweeter when Jack finally discovers redemption in the arms of his soul mate. I loved this Elemental Witches, Book 1: Witch Fire, and cannot tell you how excited I was when I read on Bast's blog that she is pretty much done with its sequel, Witch Blood! I will be counting the days until Book 2 of this exciting paranormal series is ready for review... But having read Witch Fire, I learned I cannot begin reading one of Anya Bast's books too close to bedtime, as I will be up all night until I finish it!
