Upon finishing this....

title, I have to give this entire series the overall top rating of 5 stars. I have spent the last year starting from the very first Sarah Booth Delaney mystery, of course interspersing these wonderful reads with other wonderful reads so as to NOT get overwhelmed by one single author. I love all the characters in each book and always feel like I'm experiencing a rude awakening when finishing each title. I guess that's because I live in the north and this is my first trip to the real old south (and Jitty does a fine job of introducing the old south!)... Having said that, I am hoping Ms. Haines takes us ALL back to the Delta VERY, VERY soon and although it may be difficult for Sarah Booth to make the tough decisions ahead, I refuse to believe that an author of Ms. Haines abilities will leave her fans disappointed. I am also hoping that the next title will be out NEXT week, as I am panting to find out what happens! (That's a bit of joke but my fingers are crossed anyway) Now I have a few of Ms. Haines non-series books to tackle and I am so looking forward to these reads that I may just have to take the phone off the hook.....hope everyone keeps on enjoying this wonderful series.

Ghosts Keep Spooking

My favorite character throughout the Sarah Booth Delaney mysteries is Jitty. Sarah Booth must say goodbye to her favorite girlfriend/apparition, but don't believe that the door to the spirit world is closed permanently. Haines never disappoints and Wishbones is no exception. There's plenty of ghosts, dogs, horses, and MURDER. A super-duper mystery that you'll find is lots of fun in addition to a fast-moving sleuthfest.

another Haines' can't-put-it-down mystery

Carolyn Haines is the master of so many genres, but perhaps her most unique contribution is the Delaney mystery series. WISHBONES doesn't disappoint. If you're looking for a great mystery with rapid pacing, you've found it. And you'll enjoy the irreverent treatment of the South's "daddy's girls." Sarah Booth and Tinkie are uniquely delightful characters that shatter any stereotype (positive or negative) that you may have.

Sarah Booth Delaney fan!

I couldn't put this book down. I admit I was yelling at Sarah Booth to stop going places alone and to please put a leash on her big hound but overall this book was amazing! Action packed and hilarious as all Ms Haines books relating to this character are. Highly recommend. A word of advice: Do make sure you have the time to sit down and read it because your mind will start to wonder what's going to happen next while you take a food or bathroom break from it. A pair of Depends undergarments will be purchased the same time I pick up the next installment. Pays to be prepared. Here's hoping for many more Sarah Booth Delaney Mysteries in the future.

No Matter Where She Roams

Regardless of where Sarah Booth Delaney roams, she is still one interesting character. This "chapter" of the series is again filled with crisp dialogue, wonderful characters, and a twisted plot. Haines is a master of writing cliff hanger chapter endings, so don't start Wishbones unless you are prepared to stay up all night reading. It is interesting that her story moves to California and to Costa Rica (not Mexico as one reviewer said) and ends with Sarah Booth flying back to Mississippi. I hope she stays there, for you can take the girl out of the South, but you can't take the South out of the girl and Mississippi is where she shines brightest.
