The New Baby in the Family

Davy is the youngest of the Rabbit siblings and enjoys a special place in his family. So he's not entirely sure what to make of it when Mother Rabbit announces to him and his siblings that she's going to be having a baby. When Father Rabbit asks whether they would prefer a brother or a sister, Davy gets the idea that he actually has a choice. He talks with his friend Eddie, who actually has a baby brother and gets some interesting advice. What will Davy eventually make of the new baby? How will they get along? This book tackles the "new baby" issue in a fun, funny and ultimately charming and comforting way. The illustrations are soft and warm. The text is probably too long for younger readers to read by themselves, but would be great for read-aloud.

My daughter's favorite book

My daughter is 2 1/2 years old. She wants to have it read to her every night before bed. It is a wonderful story about adding a new baby to the family. It would be a great resource for any parent needing help introducing the idea of a new baby brother or sister to a preschooler.
