Still a great book!

I guess after two years mine is still the only review? ANYONE else read this book? Have ANY thoughts about it?I still think that it's one of the best, most honest books written for young adults about the topic of sex.

Bring This Book Back! Today's Kids Need It!

I searched and searched used bookstores online and off until I found a copy of this book that I could buy to give to my daughter when she reaches her adolesence. This book was writter by a father to his daughter and it says all the things I would like to say to my daughter when the time come but probably won't be able to as well as the author does. It's one of the best and most frank books on sexuality ever written. Most books talk about the mechanics of sex, this book talks about what sex *feels* like both physically and emotionally. This book probably would not be considered PC today because it says, "hey, if you have sex that's okay, people do it, and so HERE IS WHAT TO EXPECT, and HERE'S HOW TO *ENJOY* IT". Most books for kids on sex don't talk about what it's REALLY like, and certainly don't explain to kids how they can enjoy sex. Most kids and young adults go into their first sexual experience awkardly and not knowing how to make it enjoyable and pleasurable. It's a great book for both sexes, but as a book written from father to daugther it speaks to girls especially.I bought this for my daughter because most women I know, when they talk about their first sexual experiences will remember that it was painfull and uncomfortable and embarassing and that not only did they not enjoy it but for many women it was so "horrible" that they were almost scared away from sex for ever. Our society doesn't feel it's necessary to teach kids how to REALLY have sex - other than the basic mechanics - insert part A into slot B - and heaven forbid that most parents would teach their kids how to actually enjoy and - as the title of the book says - "get the most out of it". I would really like my kids to wait till they are married to have sex, but realistically it's probably not going to happen that way and so when they do have it I at least want them to know what to expect and what to do to make it a good experience for them and not just for - if they are girls - their boyfriends. I just had another baby girl and so now I guess I will have to hunt done yet ANOTHER copy of this book to give to my second daughter when she becomes a young woman...I'm still trying to find a second copy for my son, born two years ago...bring back this book! There is nothing like it in print today and it's an important and valuable book for any kid exploring their sexuality for the first time. It's sure beats learning about sex in the locker room, or by trial and error in the back seat of some guy's car...The author's other books on teaching sexuality to children "Where Did I Come From?" and "What's Happening To My Body" are classics, and two of the most popular book on this subject out there. Parents have relied on these books for decades. This book completes the trilogy but unfortunately is no longer available - indeed it and all mention of it have disappeared from the face of the Earth.
