GENIUS

"WASHINGTOON" is one of the most sophisticated, trenchant, satirical, and just plain funny strips ever written about politics. These one-pagers (consisting of up to an infinite number of panels, Stamaty-wise) appeared weekly in the Village Voice 'way back in the 80s, and punctured every conceivable conceit of the Washington establishment. They make just as much sense today as the day(s) they appeared. Nasty satire like this is timeless. Think Congressman Bob Forehead and his ilk have disappeared? How about evil industrialist Gerard V. Oxboggle? They still rule Washington, but under different names 20 years later. All fans of the comic arts, and politics, will enjoy.
