Makes your skin crawl!

This is one of the better suspense/mystery novels I have read for a while. The writing is excellent, the characters are well developed, and the plot is an original one. One of the reviewers complained about the language, but the book is dealing with a pychopathic/schizophrenic looney who probably isn't going to say "darn" or "shucks". Mr. Ames really put alot of effort into keeping his characters true to their natures. Some authors start out with a character acting or speaking one way then suddenly change personalities half-way through the story. This story is disturbing, exciting, creepy, and will keep you on the edge of your seat with a can of raid in your lap! It's a wonderful work of fiction that will keeping you reading long past your bedtime.

Ignore Doug K!

I don't normally submit reviews, but Doug K's off-base remarks spurred me into action. As someone who grew up in Dallas, I was thrilled to run across a book with its familiar skyline on the cover. Even more surprising, I found inside familiar dialogue and descriptions of places that I have been countless times. Mr. Ames writes with vivid detail, and his serial killer will keep you awake at nights long after you've finished this book.Congratulations to the publisher for realizing that not everyone grew up or lives in in New York City or Los Angeles, and congratulations to Mr. Ames on writing a good read.

A Different Kind Of Killer

This bad guy is really sick and different than the "normal" ones. Mr. Ames has written a quite enjoyable thriller; hope to see more from him. This is a fast read, but you need to pay attention.

Jeffrey Ames = Jeffrey Deaver???

Excelent book, along the lines of a Jeffrey Deaver novel, so much infact I wonder if this is a psuedonym for him. If it is not, there is now a great new author on the scene to entertain us between Lincoln Ryhme stories.
