Love, Socialism, Capitalism, and History

A page turner that includes two seperate narratives set generations apart linked by a home falling down. Her best.

A frustrating disappointment.

It’s hard to explain why I didn’t like this. I just recently re-read Kingsolver’s High Tide in The Desert & marveled at her talent. But I found Unsheltered tedious. It seems like there was a strong foundation in the juxtaposition of the historical story & the current. But the telling of both was off & often unpleasant, much like the structure in the stories. I’m sorry to say this but I don’t recommend this. I stuck with it to the bitter end but I wish I had that time back.
