Fascinating autobiography of a whistleblower.

UNDERCOVER also deserves mention for any library strong in business, healthcare, or social issues - but it's also a fascinating true crime memoir telling of the accountant author's joining of Columbia Healthcare Corporation, a network of public hospitals, where he changed from an ordinary employee and citizen to a covert FBI informant and top witness for the Justice Department in the largest criminal healthcare fraud case in U.S. history. His choice placed him and his family in danger and challenged his career path, ethics and more in this fascinating autobiography of a whistleblower.

Gripping Story

This is an amazing story that is well written. Good moral character that slays the giant and comes out a winner at the end. I can't imagine the being in the dilemma of this whistleblower and having the courage to blow the whistle on two corporate giants. As a CPA Mr. Schilling's conduct and code of ethics, is what is what is expected of CPA's and this is a must read for all CPA's. I believe this would make a great movie, and I would expect it to be on film in a few years. Mr. Schilling is truly an American hero and its a shame our government and/or our President doesn't publically thank whistleblowers or honor them for saving us taxpayers billions of dollars.

undercover

very good book i give it a five star rating should be read by all seniors in high school.it tells about the stress a whistleblower goes through and also the rewards one can get for doing the right thing

The inside story about being a whistleblower

This book is an entertaining, fast paced, eye-opening look into the process of being a whistleblower. While it should be interesting to all, it is a must read for anyone that has thought of filing a False Claims Act case, or anyone that has already filed a case. True insights into how the process actually works, and situations and problems that can arise when it doesn't are enlightening. Thankfully there are people out there like Mr. Schilling that risk it all to do the right thing and stop companies from stealing the hard earned tax dollars of the American people.

The right choice

Wow!!!! put yourself in John Schillings shoes, would you be able to make the right choice? This is a book that every taxpayer should read. As health care costs rise, John's story is a bright spot in help keeping those costs inline in the future and every taxpayer should be thankfull. His honesty and strong moral values gave him an incredible journey that I don't think most of us could endure. The book keeps you interested in wanting to continue to the next chapter, (great flow) This book could easily become a movie that people would want to see. Well written with incredible details and accounts of all his events that took place, truly a exciting story!!!
