Amazing disability and mental health representation

I did a buddy read with a friend for this book a few years back, and this book was so, so good. It focuses on the main character’s disabilities and mental illnesses in a way that’s not degrading. The main character meets a boy who wants to meet her, but she has difficulty leaving her home. The author does an amazing job portraying her disabilities without using the “love cures all” trope.

Not exactly what I expected

It wasn't awful, I don't hate it. It handles the issues that it deals with realistically, I just expected... more. It was a very quick, easy read. A few things (not spoiling) I feel like we're just added for emotional affect rather than to move the story forward. Maybe I'll like it more doing a reread.
