The Fairy Godmother is Real

I glanced at the table of contents. Why women need female mentors...What is a mentor anyway?...How do you find a mentor?...Love you hate you-healing the mother daughter bond. I turned to that chapter and found in the pages new definitions,interpretations and possibilities for working on my difficult relationship with my adult daughter. The ideas were refreshing,sometimes afirming,and challenging. Recognizing the difference between mothering and mentoring was full of possibilities for healing. The book shares many of the interviews with people in mentoring relationships and sites some studies in psychology and anthropology to support the ideas. How can we turn the imaginary fairy godmother into a real person who can give incouragement,guidance and help us to be free to be our full selves.
