Arnette Lamb's Books

I have all of Lamb's books. I agree with the other reveiwers about the tragedy of the death of a fine writer. I prefer my romantic fiction with a Scottish theme and hers are the best I've ever read. My favorite is "True Hearts", although it's hard to chose between that and "Highland Rogue". The complete MacKenzie series needs to be read, to understand all the family connections. I knew as I read True Hearts, that it was the last book about the MacKenzies. As well as it ended, it was sad to know Lamb wouldn't be around to add to the series at some later date.

beautiful Scottish series...

this is the final book in the Clan MacKenzie saga. If you've read and enjoyed the other books in this series, especially Beguiled, Agne's story, then you owe it to yourself to pick up True Heart and find out what happened to Virginia. Fans of Scottish Historicals should seek out Miss Lamb's books as they are older but better than some current novels out there. 5 stars!

In Memory of This Author - A True Literary Entertainer

I just recently found this author, and I'm saddened to learn she's no longer with us. This book was great, the characters endearing. Cameron was a great hero who lacked for nothing. I liked Agnes, and the way she argued with Cameron, as if they were brother and sister. Virginia was sweet; unfortunately, what happened to her happens all too frequently. Now, this mistress of Cameron's; I never got an insight into her character at all. Why did she do (say) what she did towards the end of the book? We knew next to nothing about her that would explain her actions.I'm just now reading HIGHLAND ROGUE, and it's great. I love Lachlan and at this point, it's hard to picture him and Juliet as parents of grown children. I'm waiting for his famous temper to unleash itself.

True Heart is whimsical escapism for a cold winters night.

True Heart is a delightful read. Arnette Lamb is becoming a favorite of mine for her whimsical style of writing. In True Heart she brings back all the wonderful members Lachlan MacKenzie's family with their talents and foibles. While not as plot driven as her other books, it is a great book for curling up in front of a fire and losing oneself in time.
