Just enough to make you scream...

Trash is a wonderful follow-up after Sanami Matoh's bestselling Fake series. If you're not familiar with Matoh's distinctive art style, it's less "flowers and fluff" and than some artists. More hard angles and shadows, but I find that only adds to the overall affect. The story-line is a solid one, and draws you in quickly. From the talking penguin to the split-personality of the main character to the less-than-wholesome side characters who aren't always what you think. The only bad thing about Trash is that it seems to be exculsive to the one volume, when it's obviously set up for a series. Hence the screams of frustration and disappointment. I'm a bit torn about recommending Trash. On the one hand, it's a work by the wonderful Sanami Matoh, and so should be read and enjoyed by default. On the other, it may perhaps be discontinued or on hiatus. In which case you'll read it, and spend the rest of your life cursing the fact that you picked it up. On second thought...go read it. Immediately! I don't want to be the only one suffering...
