Themen neu 2

The set is very informative, and it has some positives as well as some negatives. Positive things include the modern illustrations and the easy going format. Also, the tapes help tremendously with one's ability to interpret different German accents. The Workbook offers several exercises and the answers in the back allow you to check your progress. However, the book is annoying in that it will use vocabulary that it has not yet been defined, and it does not contain a helpful composite glossary. It also tends to jump around a lot and it does not have a definite outline. It tends to dabble into a concept and then leave you hanging until a few lessons later.

Great book to learn Deutsch

This book along with the Themen neu 1 course book and the Hoertexte, make a exelent lerning tool for any one that is serius to lern this language. The content is clear and simple, because you read, write and hear, you advance fast. Actualy, this system and books are the ones used in the Deutsch Academy in my town. Before using this books, I tried with other book-tape system and it was also good, but Themen neu is more organized so you will feel more confortable. This book also has the 2 and 3 levels, but don't underestimate the advance that you will have with level 1, you will be talking a lot when finishing level 1.
