Can't recommend it ENOUGH!!

Wow! I was just blown away by this book. I have been a Christian for just under a year (Praise the Lord!), and this came along at just the right time in my walk with the Lord Jesus. Since I am kind of straddling the fence between being brand-new to Christianity and having a year's worth of knowledge under my belt, I can recommend this book to both camps. My suggestion is: if you are a new believer, buy this book, go through it, and learn what you need to learn right now. Then, go back through it once you have grown a little to dig deeper and absorb some of the things that may not have made sense before. Another thing I loved about this book is how "interactive" it is. Each page has little sidebars with additional information on each topic, famous quotes, and ideas for personalizing your study. These were so helpful! I especially appreciated the tips for making your Bible study more meaningful, since that is something I struggle with. This book is at the same time deep into the Word and the things of God and interesting and funny. How can you not love it? So, if you want to grow deeper in your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, buy a copy for yourself! And, while you're at it, buy a copy for a new believer and your church library. Let's grow together!

Answers all the right questions

When a seeker makes the decision to become a Christian, it's a beginning, not a completion of anything (a point on which certain evangelistically minded people seem unclear). The new believer is left with many questions about what, exactly, he or she has committed to.The World's Easiest Guide for New Believers is probably the best available answer book I've seen. Some resources are too light on the theology. ("Yes, Jesus loves you. Yeaaaaaah, God!") Others go to the opposite extreme and read like seminary textbooks. At the risk of sounding too much like Goldilocks, I have to say this one is just right!Southern's guide is witty without being corny, simple without being simplistic, and meaty without making the reader feel overwhelmed or incapable of understanding. Each chapter covers a different topic (God's will, heaven, worship, evil, etc.), beginning with a few simple truths and leading to the relevance of those truths and how they might be practically applied in a person's life. The numerous sidebars and clean layout of the book are nice additions to the well-written text. I highly recommend this book to any new believers you might know . . . as well as any old-school believers who appear to have forgotten what their faith is all about.

This is a good book on an important subject. I wish I could have had such information to be found in one place when I was a new believer.
