Wonderful seasonal devotional

This is just a lovely devotional for Advent. It truly made a difference in my thinking, reflection and feelings during the holidays. My religious upbringing didn't focus on Advent so the experience of anticipating Christmas in this way was a new and wondrous one. I will use this book for many Advents to come.

Another nice Advent read

Ordered this along with "Sacred Space for the Advent Season 2009-2010". What's nice about "The Uncluttered Heart" is that it's perennial; reflections are organized week-by-week for Advent, then daily from Christmas Eve through January 6th. For group leaders, the second half is composed of a group study guide. I like the way the author pulls snippets from other writings for each day, pairs them with Scripture, provides some thoughts for reflection, then sums everything up in a short sentence to carry with you through the day. Might be helpful to post those thoughts on sticky notes as reminders...Good resource, and a good buy because of it's timeless use.

Peace in the Coming of the Savior

THE UNCLUTTERED HEART by Beth A. Richardson is a wonderful daily guide; it guides us in a gentle and warm way for the coming of the Savior. The thought for the day, the daily scripture, and the concluding comments set a tone for the day. Reading this book gives me an appreciation for the Advent and Christmas season. I love the Advent principles: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love; I hold them in my heart, and I await the birth of the Christ-child. This daily reading is a must, and I plan to refer to it every year. A fine addition to any Christian inspiration collection

Christmas is one of the most stressful times of the year, and we sometimes end up forgetting the most obvious aspect of the holiday - God.
