A Wonderful Must Read

This is a wonderful beginning to a great series! Gilbert Morris truly ties together true history with the fictional families beautifully. A good read for teens on up.

A must read!

If you love English royal history, this book and the whole Wakefield series is for you! I checked the series out of the library and read them. I loved the series so much that I bought them all. I love the way Morris has weaved royalty and christian martyr William Tyndale into the story. This is by far the best series that I've read!

Suspenseful, intelligent novel; the helm of a great series

This is, by far, the best novel I have ever read. Even if you don't like "religious" fiction, you'd like this book. Anyone with an appreciation for English history or even good storytelling would love this book. I'd recommend it to the staunchest secularist--whom I happen to be dating, heh.

The Wakefield Series is my favorite!!

If you are a Gilbert Morris or historical fiction fan - don't miss out on this series! This series brings to life the times of Henry the VIII (you'll get to really know this infamous character) and the atrocities that were dealt out against Christians in this era. Learn about Tyndale & Bunyan and have a better appreciation for the sufferings they endured so we can have our religious freedoms today!

Gilbert Morris-the best at what he does

Who better to combine history with fiction in a christian novel, than Gilbert Morris. Truly, he is one of the best Christian writers of this time. This book and the five following (in the series) are all captivating, moving and heart warming. The 400 pages pass by before you know it. THANK YOU, MR. MORRIS for providing healthy, interesting reading for even teenagers (I am one-15 yrs.)
