What a Read!!

The Starr Report is something that, once read, you do not easily forget. I first read the lengthy report in 1998, days after it was completed. I found it to be absorbing, VERY detailed and quite fascinating. Does it intrude upon privacy? Absolutely. Did that make me want to read it any less? No. All in all, I think that the report is something that should be read by anyone wishing to learn about the private lives of Presidents and the people who work for them. This edition is notable because it contains the full report, along with both rebuttals from the Clinton lawyers. Other editions contain only the preliminary rebuttal, due to the fact that they were rushed to publication. The Starr Report is very well written- despite its overly detailed accounts of the most intimate moments between Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. The attention to detail given the report by Ken Starr and his investigative team is commendable. It takes a lot of patience, intelligence and experience to produce that kind of work. Everything flows well and ties into everything else. It is a perfectionistic dream. The footnote sections of the report would garner a perfect evaluation from the most demanding English professor. The report also goes a long way toward setting a tone for the reader. You feel like you are right there, in Washington DC, listening in on the conversations of the most powerful people in the nation. A reprieve from normal reality, you might say.Bottom Line: This report/book is not for everyone and it DOES push the envelope as far as disclosure of intimate sexual acts are concerned, but go ahead and read it (guilt-free) if you want to.

fantastic-reads like a hollywood screenplay

There are very few books that deserve the attention like THE STARR REPORT. Like ripped from the Hollywood headlines, this exact account of Presdient CLintons affair with Monica Lewinsky is the last, full and accurate proof that there is a democracy still left in the United States.

Engrossing and Thought-provoking

I think that people should form their own opinions of the Clinton scandal AFTER reading the Starr Report. Extremely well documented. This should be read by every American in order to get the story straight as to why Clinton is being accused of perjury. The report has been damned for being too sexually graphic. However, this is a necessity since the details refute everything Clinton said during the Paula Jones deposition. Instead of saying Clinton is guilty or innocent based on one's emotional feelings for the man, an opinion should be formed after reading the Starr Report. I have passed on my copy of the book around in the office and am encouraging everyone to read it.

Great Historic Document!

Whether one relishes the many sorid details, Starr's narrative leaves little doubt that the Executive Branch has been soiled beyond the imagination of most Americans. Thanks to Clinton, this report might join the Mayflower Compact and Emancipation Proclamation as one of our nation's important historic documents. Darwin shrugs! But don't blame the messenger. Read this, and you'll see that Starr has merely done what Reno hired him to do. The Report is best read in book form (annotated internet versions are to hard to follow). Here's nonfiction at it's finest!

Well done, Ken Starr

Contrary to what your biased review indicates, this is not a book at all. It is a factual report of what happend. It was all made necessary by Clintons's acts and evasions. To compare it with a Harold Robbins novel or to pornography simply misses the mark entirely. It is a comprehensive report to congress.
