From the backcover: Wealthy, powerful Cristiano Cordova is determined his late cousin's child will be raised by the Cordova family--not by some glamorous, feckless gold digger... But he's shocked to realize Dominique Sanderson is a devoted mother, living in a tiny, run-down London apartment. Despite her delicate appearance, she stands up to Cristiano-- fueling his intense desire. So he'll take Dominique and the baby back to Spain... and by Christmas he will make Dominique his bride! My take:The heroine, Dominique is the former girl friend/ plaything of the hero's nephew. The nephew was on a path to destruction. Dominique managed to get caught up in the storm along the way. Dominique falls pregnant and the nephew leaves her high and dry, he has a trajic accident shortly after. Christiano finds a letter from Dominique in the pants of his nephew along with a picture of her and the nephew's baby daughter . He tracks down Dominique via her mother. In the beginning, Dominique was very apprehensive towards any involvement from Cristiano's family. Eventually, Cristiano is able to tear away at Dominique's resistance and convinces her to come to Spain to meet her daughter's paternal grandmother and great aunt. It is in Spain that the attraction between Christiano and Dominique heats up. The two fall deeply in love while trying to resist the strong attraction that they share. The book contains a few thoughts of how the relationship between the two could be seen as indecent because of Dominique's past relationship with Christiano's nephew. In the end, the two got together and the family seemed to be happy for them. This was my first time reading a Maggie Cox book. I like that her hero was sensitive but at the same time still alpha. Her hero shed a few tears but not in a wimpy effeminate way. I'm very sure I will be reading HP romances written by Maggie Cox book in the future.
