Interesting

This interesting book is part of The Peoples of North America series for young adult readers. The book begins with an essay on race and racism by Daniel Patrick Moynihan that has nothing to do with the rest of the book, and could easily have been dispensed with. After that, though, the book launches into an excellent history of the Ulster-Scots, and the Scotch-Irish in America. Now, my one and only complaint against this book is that very few of the many pictures are in color, which is quite a shame as many of the pictures are quite beautiful when seen in their original. But, beyond that, this is a great book on the Scotch-Irish, one that will greatly inform your younger reader. I highly recommend this book.
