Interesting concept but doesn't dig very deep

I enjoyed this book & it is a very digestible read. I was just expecting it to dive a bit deeper into the subject matter but it mostly just grazes the surface. That being said, it was still a quick & interesting read

Fuels my desire to travel to the holy land.

Written in simple, easy to understand language, each chapter delves into deeper meanings to places and language in Bible stories. Reading the beautiful verse translations inspired me to decide that my next trip through the Bible will be the Messianic Jewish translation (TLV).

Very Enjoyable as Well as Informative

I surprisingly enjoyed this book. I also highly recommend it. It has some very interesting facts to assist the Christian to dig deeper into God’s Word and build their Christian faith. These facts are procured from the alphanumeric Hebrew language, Jewish cultural understanding, Jewish Religious and Worship Rituals and geographical facts of the land and seas of Israel. Information that is not common knowledge to the Gentile believer. For example, In the chapter on Bethlehem, Jesus’ birth is discussed. Expounding on the fact and the why that Jesus’ birth location in the birthing caves of the temple offerings, that he washed in salt as part of the swaddling process, actions which point to His future sacrifice as the Passover Lamb of God. How important the swaddling of baby Jesus was as a sign to the shepherds who were looking for Him and how even the linen fabric He was swaddled in was a sign to them as well! Information such as salt was symbolic of friendship and loyalty in the ancient world and was sign of covenant; 2 Chronicles 13:5. You will discover the meaning in why David chose five smooth stones in his slaying of Goliath. “In this book you will have the exciting opportunity to discover the truth of the Bible and learn what many passages in Scripture really mean.” You will realize God does not mince words. If He puts it in there, whether numbers, names, geological names and locations, it all has meaning. Thus as you dig intentionally into the Word of God the Holy Spirit will open up the eyes of your understanding past the surface and into the amazing depths of God. As Kathie Lee states, “There is so much more!”
