If you're really sort of a history buff as I am you'll enjoy this book. The history of women artist goes back to the 1800's. Brooke Baily (the author) unleashes the stories that made women artist great. It's filled to the brim with stories and additional resources you can find to connect with greater history about the world's most remarkable lives of female artist. Giving years and dates of birth with short vinettes of each female artist life is sure to keep you interested with every turning page. With women artist that you've probably never heard before, Bailey shares great insight. Talking about popular contemporary artist like Louise Nevelson who explored and exploited the color black using box type constructions that made her art work the rage of the sixties. For two to three short pages she covers the artist rearing, expressing whether it was difficult or the ease of the environmental condition of the artist. In all cases Baily does a superb job with dishing out the specific settings and painting a successful picture of each artist.
